Middle East Transparent blocked by Saudi Government Agency

A Saudi reader informed us by email that www.metransparent.com has been blocked by a Saudi government agency. This follows the blocking of other free websites: www.rezgar.com, www.rasid.com, and www.saudiaffairs.com.

We have no explanation for the Saudi decision except for our coverage of the trial of the three reformers Ali Damini, Matrouk el Faleh and Abdullah el Hamed.

If true, the Saudi decision shall only strengthen our belief that all efforts should be done to break the deadly hold of Saudi money on the Arab press. It is an irony that Saudi princes are financing newspapers like Sharq al Awsat and Hayat in London while blocking liberal websites.

I am a Muslim woman who is currently converting to Christianity. I

have left Islam because of the narrow-mindedness of the religion. As a

Christian, I am glad to see that some Muslims are able to make a change in

society. You were shut down because you bother the status quo - hatred and

narrow mindedness. Continue the great work!
